What is construction materials testing?
Construction materials testing is the process of testing both ground conditions and building materials throughout the infrastructure building life-cycle to maintain integrity of materials used and adherence to international standards.
Construction materials testing applies to everything from roads, to sub-developments, to large infrastructure projects such as rail, wind farms and solar farms.
Geotechnical engineers will often order and consult on the results of construction materials testing, as will structural engineers, civil engineers, project managers, builders and architects.
Construction materials testing is carried out by a qualified CMT technician either at the project site, at a mobile laboratory or at an established laboratory facility, depending on the tests being carried out.
